Kara spans a vast territory of 11,630 km². The region is home to Kéran National Park, a wildlife reserve covering 163,240 hectares. Kara is also distinguished by its unique terrace farming practices that characterize the landscape. The region, which encompasses the traditional Temberma villages, hosts the Koutamakou site, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The region comprises 7 prefectures: Doufelgou, Kozah, Binah, Kéran, Bassar, Assoli, Dankpen.
